The Original $6 Burger from Carl's Jr. only has 1010 calories. And that is not the regular burger. The regular burger is a Famous Star which has only 600 Calories. They never advertised it as healthy. If you want healthy have a BBQ chicken combo with a garden salad with Balsamic vinagrette dressing instead of fries, and a diet soda, or ice tea with no sugar. Just pay a little attention, and ask question, and you can find healthier alternatives.

that is one big burger! our burgers in asia are much smaller.

i think it also has to do with the climate. warmer climate burns more calories. asians eat rice at least three times a day, and yet most of us are reed-thin. when i went to the US for two months, i rarely ate because i wasn't used to the food, but i gained a lot of weight. i had been trying to gain weight back home for several years, but i never gained any.

Hi Natalie! I have written about this subject a bunch of times. The real reasons for the expanding waistline of America might surprise. One is covered in my corn movie review posted today. (Linked to my name.) Did you realize that every single item in the photos on this post contains corn?

The biggest thing anyone can do to improve their health and weight is to stop drinking soda, especially diet soda. There is also a link in my sidebar to a nutritionist who has a lot of less well know information about this very topic.

You have hit close to home with this topic and it is great to see it being discussed on your blog!

Yikes that first picture just jumped right out at me. Yikes. I like some of this food, but rarely do I ever eat any of it. Salads, fresh veggies and lean meats and fish. I feel much better for it too. Great post. :)
